Your bid on it

Your bid: your all-in number, for grain picked up at the farm.

What you bid is what you pay for the grain. The haul from the farmer’s yard isn’t inside that number. It’s yours, and we can line up a trucker at our freight rate for you to confirm, or confirm it for you.

What we confirm before trading

  • Trade references. Including a named contact at your bank.
  • Payment terms. When and how you pay the seller.
  • Discount schedules. In writing, including what gets rejected.
  • CGC licence status. Whether you’re licensed and bonded, where the grain calls for it.
  • Who handles what. Invoices, logistics and payments.
  • And we keep checking. References, terms and licences can change, so we confirm them again as we trade.

How Giddyupp gets paid

Your bid is your all-in price, with our fee included. You pay the seller your bid price less our fee, and you pay our fee directly to Giddyupp.

You’ll know our fee before you commit. If one of our traders steps in and the fee changes, you’ll see that before you commit too. There are no additional Giddyupp fees added after the deal is made.

Send your discount schedule with the bid

The price matters. So do the quality limits and discounts that apply if the grain misses your spec. Send your discount schedule with the bid so we can work through the details with the seller before the grain moves.

For barley, that could include your minimum bushel weight, moisture limits, discounts at 47 or 46 pounds, and what would cause you to reject the load.

Knowing those limits helps us match you with grain that meets your requirements, and helps the seller know where they stand before they haul.

Your bids stay private

When we show market prices to sellers, we don’t show who made the bid. Sellers can see what the market is paying without seeing your name.

Your bids, fee schedule and account details stay between you and Giddyupp.
